Description

The Huntington User Experience (HUX) team is seeking a passionate leader to join a team of design thinkers focused on creating experiences that help people. As a UX Interaction Design Manager, you will lead a team of interaction designers and information architects, guiding their efforts to find the sweet spot between user needs and business goals. Youll also oversee a portfolio of UX projects that have multi-channel implications and assist the team in problem solving from the earliest phases of innovation through delivery.

You will play a crucial role in designing solutions that customers use daily to manage a fundamental aspect of their everyday life and future potential, their financial well-being. This position has the ability to work remotely but will be required to be in the Easton, OH or Plymouth, MN office several times a month if needed.

In this role, you will:

Partner with IxD managers:
  • Build staffing plans, monitor capacity, and plan training/development activities
  • Identify process enhancement opportunities for interaction design work products
Lead project teams:
  • Provide oversight for a portfolio of UX projects from early concept through delivery
  • Provide design direction and ensure alignment and consistency of all interaction patterns
  • Facilitate problem-solving and assist the team in moving through various stages of user-centered design
  • Outline activities that will clearly accelerate teams towards viable design solutions
Collaborate with Huntington colleagues to:
  • Consult with clients inside Huntington seeking UX services and develop appropriate approaches
  • Coordinate discussions with IT and business partners to align on an experience delivery strategy
  • Collaborate with UX teammates (UI designers, UX researchers, font-end UI developers, content designers), business/product managers, IT teams, brand managers, analytics teams, and leadership

Skills Required

Experience providing constructive feedback to move the work forward and improve the quality of our solutions

Senior-level interaction design and information architecture skills with appreciation for detail and the ability to quickly synthesize information to make sense of complex situations

Balanced understanding of specialized UX skillsets (experience strategy, design research, usability, interaction and visual design, content strategy, front-end UI development)

Comfort with ambiguity early in projects

Strong understanding of the user-centered design process

Experience with responsive web design, mobile-first approaches, and the nuances between native app platforms

Knowledge of latest trends and UI conventions in the digital space

Familiar with ADA compliance, usability standards, and guidelines

Experience working with enterprise scale brands

Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite

Excellent written and verbal communicator

Strong organization, facilitation, collaboration, and problem-solving skills

Additional Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Industrial Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Human-factors Engineering, Library Sciences, Digital Media, or equivalent related experience

Minimum 10 years of experience in the field of digital experience design

Minimum 5 years experience managing design teams and leading large-scale projects

Experience navigating from design into delivery within enterprise IT environments, both agile and waterfall

Ability to work on multiple projects concurrently, demonstrating a mature ability to prioritize and manage time
