Distant Warning and Target missions support prompt global strike as well as Anti Access/Area Denial (A2/AD) missions. Relevant to near-peer threat deterrence, maneuver and overmatch, DWT capabilities provide comprehensive situational awareness enabling long range precision fires to penetrate through the enemy force s defensive capabilities within the operational environments by synchronizing effects across multiple domains while simultaneously providing intelligence on the enemy efforts to reciprocate.

TCOM offerings for these missions provide long range sensor and communication packages integrated on elevated platforms between 10000 and 100000 feet above ground level. Through custom developed systems and deployment architectures, these systems are deployed at permanent strategic sites and maneuvered to locations as much as 1000 miles beyond the forward line of troops. Tailored ground control shelters and on-board avionics provide additional communications capabilities, especially in complex urban and obscured terrain a beyond line-of-sight (BLOS) link to forward deployed units and direct linkage to the integrated fires network (IFN).

The Solutions Architect (SA DWT) is responsible for the strategy, roadmap, and feature definition of the DWT products. The role involves working with cross-functional teams and aspects of marketing, forecasting, capture and proposal responsibilities. The SA analyzes the market and competitive environment to define a differentiated product vision that delivers unique value. This role spans activities, from strategic to tactical providing cross-functional leadership and bridges different organizational functional groups - most often between engineering, business development, program management, and life cycle support.

Working Procedure:

The individual is responsible for understanding customer requirements, defining and prioritizing features, then working with the Engineering team to design them, the Business Development team to sell them and the Program Management team to deliver them. Additionally, the SA works directly with the Manufacturing and Program Management teams to develop build to cost targets. These targets are based off price to win objectives developed in conjunction with the Business Development team and internal analysis.

This position will drive product strategies that address market trends, customer needs and competitive positioning. Manage the entire product lifecycle, from strategic to tactical activities. Drive product revenues and margin growth targets. Lead the (pre-award) Sales Planning process to ensure revenue can be recognized in desired time period. Establish internal programs to improve margins for products.

The SA determines product features based on strategy and vision, customer interviews, roadmaps, competitive differentiation, positioning, customer communication. This includes understanding market values and pricing to create best value for customers. The position provides input to product launches messaging, naming and branding

The individual is expected to exercise sound judgment and integrity within broadly defined practices and policies; regularly interact with all levels of management, infrastructure POCs, staff, and display a high degree of tact and diplomacy.

Other responsibilities include:
  • Responsible for the business plan and portfolio management of the Distant Warning and Targeting Product Line
  • Market sizing and development of businesses cases for recommended offerings
  • Definition of market requirements and conversion into specific product description documents for the execution teams
  • Recommending IRAD strategy and investments
  • Managing the product line projects through checkpoint reviews, engineering reconciliation and launch dates for on time delivery
  • Improving product line to drive customer value; driving a culture of continuous improvement
  • Achieving target customer pipeline, pricing strategy, catalog part numbers, target revenue and cost targets based on the approved product business cases
  • Managing 3rd party vendors, contracts and partner relationships
  • Working closely with Business Development for marketing messaging, collateral, thought leadership and trade shows
  • Developing sales tools and training to grow customer pipeline and sales. Support trade shows, customer demonstrations and sales presentations
  • Evaluating make versus buy alternatives to develop systems offerings
  • Contributing to the growth of TCOM system offering by recommending, demonstrating, and collaborating with industry partners to maximize value and minimize costs
  • Working closely with bids, and proposals
  • Working across Sales, Program Management, Marketing and Engineering to deliver product offerings from concept to production and sustainment
  • Providing domain expertise in Distant Warning and Targeting solutions including all steps of the system value chain such as the design, plan, implementation, configuration, and test, from inception to customer handoff. Demonstrate customer requirements are met.
  • Travel: 25% or more, including international travel
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Education Requirement:Bachelor s degree in marketing or engineering required.

Experience Requirement:Fifteen or more years of related work experience.Ability to obtain Interim and/or Final Clearances (Post Start).
