Job Responsibilities & Requirements

The Solutions Architect (AI) is part of a Global Team at MiTek that is responsible for the design and scaffolding of the architecture for projects that MiTek intends to develop.

  • Software Language Agnostic - should be able to pick up a new programming language in a week and apply it with high confidence
  • Ability to evangelize AI and how it can be applied in the construction industry
  • Consult to multiple teams regarding how AI can be used to solve the problems in front of them and make them more efficient
  • Humbly collaborate with Product Management, Development Leadership, Software Quality Assurance, DevOps, UX and other development teams to understand their complex problems and determine the best architectural designs for the products MiTek creates
  • Work in an Agile software development environment (using Scrum), participating in daily scrum meetings, monthly retrospective and planning meetings
  • Develop POC to validate that an outcome can be achieved in certain technologies
  • Scaffold applications to ensure scalability and re-usability
  • Leave every project with detailed design documents, ensuring that the designs are well understood and correctly applied by the development teams
  • Contribute to the overall Technology Strategy
  • Mentor other Developers and Technical Architects on Architectural principles and best practices
  • Keep up with technology trends and innovations, bringing to light aspects that can impact/affect the enterprise
  • Unique understanding of all the MiTek products that allows for making decisions relating to future platforms
  • Optimize difficult workflows; evaluate and recommend technologies
  • Recommend selection, approval, and acquisition of hardware, software, networking components, and services
  • Independently architect and lead implementation of new software solutions from scratch, including activities such as developing project plans, coordinating projects, managing project team activities, communicating changes and progress, completing projects on time and within budget
  • Ability and willingness to easily jump on any MiTek software team and make an immediate contribution
  • Attendance during regular work hours and overtime as required

Education and/or Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university preferably in Computer Science or Engineering; 10+ years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience with at least 4 years as a Lead Programmer or Architect.
  • Proficiency with web based architecture
  • Experienced in building AI models
  • Demonstrated experience focused on AI and machine learning or predictive learning
  • Experience with Azure or AWS infrastructure
  • Knowledge of Microservices architecture
  • Experience working in an Agile software development environment using Scrum
  • Experience coaching/mentoring others
  • Construction or manufacturing industry experience highly preferred
  • Construction software development experience highly preferred
