Hello, My client in Isle of Wight is in need of a Senior Quality Engineer. We are looking to recruit a Senior Quality Engineer to join our client in a busy and expanding team working across two sites based on the Isle of Wight The Island lies off the south coast of England just two hours from London and is designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. It is steeped in history and culture, and a magnet for those who enjoy outdoors activities, especially watersports. RESPONSIBILITIES The aerospace industry is heavily regulated and this role is focussed on compliance and improvement activities within it. The role encompasses the entire value stream; supporting customers, regulators, suppliers, and internal departments in achieving compliant outputs, with a drive on continually improving processes. It involves evaluating the quality of processes and products and recommending revisions of indicated specifications. Testing products, systems, and procedures to ensure they meet technical standards, creating documentation on quality and safety and liaising between the engineering and production teams, and the customers to uncover and resolve quality-related issues. Use a variety of lean manufacturing tools to identify risks/ issues in advance and putting robust solutions/ corrective actions in place to prevent issues occurring, or reoccurring. Undertake third party audits and make crucial decisions to maximise cost efficiency without compromising product quality. The successful individual will act as a Quality Standards Ambassador and always challenge convention on what is currently being done so we can optimise improvement and develop a culture that embraces LEAN and continuous improvement. PERSONAL SPECIFICATION Essential HND or above Engineering Qualification or equivalent Highly motivated Diligent Ability to influence others Effective and targeted communicator IT literate (MS Office Products, MRP systems) Practical and demonstrated experience in similar role. Desirable Knowledge and practical experience of AS9100D and the Aerospace Regulations especially concerning EASA Part 21 Subpart G. Knowledge and practical experience of AS9145 (or automotive core tools). Including MSA, FMEA, APQP and SPC) Knowledge and practical experience of Six Sigma and problem-solving tools. Knowledge and experience with IPC standards or electronics in general. Lead auditor in ISO9001:2015 The salary for this role is £45K to £65k per annum.
