What You'll Do:

  • Develop and Publish OSHA Compliance Standard Operating Procedures for material handling equipment, life safety devices/systems, and personal protective equipment
  • Collaborate with Distribution, HR and Talent Development to enhance safety orientation programs for Distribution and Retail teams. This will include but is not limited to Lift Truck, Lock Out Tag Out, Blood Borne Pathogen, General Safety Inspections, PPE and Hazardous Communication
  • Keep up to date and develop inspection processes per State and OSHA compliance standards.
  • Audit mandatory annual compliance training & acknowledgments.
  • Recommend ergonomic enhancements to workstations and job descriptions.
  • Complete workplace injury investigations and share recommendations
  • Maintain up-to-date OSHA 300 recordkeeping for each calendar year and facilitate posting requirements.
  • Support insurance claims specialists for WC/GL/PD claims.
  • Complete analysis of work-related incidents, investigate results and provide recommendations on mitigation to management.
  • Administer and update Material Safety Data Sheets platform as needed.
  • Develop Safety Committee topics and agendas for DC Security & Safety & Retail teams
  • Review and update emergency and severe weather procedures for Duluth Facilities as needed
  • Annual review and update of Distribution/Retail Safety inspections, reporting, and recordkeeping.
  • Ensure the presence of fire prevention equipment, safety equipment, and first-aid supplies
  • Investigate the adequacy of ventilation, exhaust equipment, lighting, and other conditions that could affect employee health, comfort, or performance.

What We're Looking For:

  • Minimum 2 years experience in Occupational Safety and Asset Protection
  • Degree or Equivalent experience in Safety rated field 
  • Certified Safety Profession (preferred)
  • OSHA Certification
  • First Aid & AED (preferred) 
  • Strong written and verbal communication
  • Ability to follow complex instructions
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Strong integrity, judgment and professionalism
  • Strong understanding of Microsoft

Physical Requirements:

  • Sitting up to 70% of work hours.
  • Continuous arm, hand, and wrist movement (ie: typing)
  • Occasional reaching, twisting, and bending.
  • Consistent moderate warehouse noise with occasional sirens depending on
  • Ability to perform work in cubicle workstations or an office setting.
  • Work in temperatures ranging from 65 - 75 degrees.
  • Travel up to 25% to Duluth Distribution Centers outside home state.

Compensation: $50,000+ Salary

Compensation is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc.
