Position Summary:

The Senior Network Architect is responsible for the overall technical architecture and support of the company IT systems across all locations in North America. He/She will assess and understand Airbus US's current and upcoming system requirements, including both fine-level details and overarching strategic goals, and communicate this information effectively to staff members and executives.

Support development and implementation of Network technologies within Airbus US's backbone infrastructure by advising on design concepts and changes, implementation strategies and deployment timelines. Liaison on technical issues with Airbus European IT management and design engineers, as well as US regulatory authorities.

Position Responsibilities:

Network and System Architecture: 70%
  • Meeting with management team to assess and define the business requirements that can be translated into Network Architecture solutions.
  • Analyzing Network, and cloud environments to determine inefficiencies and problems.
  • Familiar with Cisco architecture, Palo Alto, AWS, and MS 365 Architecture
  • Overseeing the development installation, configuration, and administration of Network systems.
  • Troubleshooting technical issues and developing effective solutions
  • Preparing cloud Analytics, data reports, and operational manuals.
  • Provide details level Architecture designs for branch office and Factory environments.

Innovation, Development and Implementation: 20%
  • Provide technical leadership for installation, configuration, and implementation of VMware, SAN, Routers, Firewall, and other network devices factory floor OT systems as needed
  • Developing, maintaining, and supporting technical infrastructure (IT and OT), hardware, and system software components.
  • Work closely with HR, ethics, and compliance teams.

Documentation: 10%
  • Create thorough documentation records of design specifications and instructional manuals as necessary to enable all computer systems personnel and end users to interact correctly and effectively with hardware and software systems
  • Performing high-level root-cause analysis for service interruption recovery and creating preventive measures
  • Develop and implement all IT policies and procedures inline NIST 800-171 and ITIL Standards, including those for architecture, security, disaster recovery, standards, and services.

Qualified Experience / Skills / Training:


  • Bachelor's Degree in computer science or Information Technology or STEM field or 10 years' experience in a IT, IS, or Cyber role.


  • 10+ years Network Engineering experience.
  • 5+ Years of hands-on experience with Office 365
  • 10+ Years of experience with architecting, deploying, and managing Hybrid architectures involving Cisco, Pal Alto, Secure Wifi, SAN, LAN and WAN, DNS, IP
  • 15+ Years Server architecture both physical and virtual.
  • 10+ years Backup Architecture.
  • 5+ Years of AWS Cloud setup and configuration.

  • CCIE or equivalent experience - Must have 5 years of experience in required fields
  • AWS cloud practitioner associate or equivalent experience - Must have 5 years of experience in required fields
  • MCSE

Knowledge, Skills, Demonstrated Capabilities:
  • Experience of working with manufacturing, engineering, finance, procurement, and construction teams and translating into technical solutions and designs.
  • Experience of leading in house and Government related assessments DFARS, DIBCAC. NIST 800-171, CNSSI 1253.
  • Experience of Designing and implementing new IT and assembly line infrastructure for manufacturing operations (satellite, Maintenance Repair and Overhaul Etc.) manufacturing plant enabling mass production for the world's latest communication satellite technology.

Communication Skills (Spoken, Written, Influencing, Proficiency in Other Languages):
  • Excellent communication skills, ability to present to senior managers and work with partners and vendors.

Technical Systems Proficiency:
  • Cisco
  • Pal Alto.
  • DNS
  • IP Subnetting.
  • Microsoft Exchange Server
  • Windows Server
  • Technical writing skills
  • AWS Cloud

Travel Required:
  • 25% Domestic and International

  • US Citizenship,

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance at the Secret level required

Decision Making, Complexity: The Senior Network Architect must be someone who possesses excellent technical ability, excellent communications skills, and the ability to make critical decisions that could impact all users on the company network. The decisions often need to be made quickly and after consultations with business stakeholders who may be in the US, or in Europe.

Nature of Contacts:

The Senior Network Architect will be required to work with business stakeholders, IT and Cyber personnel on a regular basis. The Senior Network Architect will need to update management on projects, as well as present to users and external customers.

Role includes involved communication with internal and external parties on a frequent basis.
