Job Responsibilities

Davidson is seeking a Scrum Master Software Engineer in Colorado Springs, CO.
  • Through the role of an Agile Scrum Master, the selected candidate will lead software development teams in their use of Agile Scrum practices to develop operational weapons software
  • The selected candidate will interface with the program execution team to establish requirements, best practices and support Agile processes
  • Lead the efforts of developing Agile engineering and management best practices, metrics, and audit practices
  • Facilitate engineering estimations and planning product backlog tasks to be worked in a sprint and aid in estimating level of effort (LOE) for development activities
  • Facilitate the creation of weekly status reports
  • Lead daily Scrum meetings and work with the product owners to ensure product backlog is current
  • Conduct sprint planning meetings, review meetings, retrospectives and demonstrations to product owners and stakeholders
  • Manage open issues and work cross-functionally to determine remedies as necessary
  • Work with architecture and engineering teams to drive planning, issue resolution, and development on project specific technical details
  • Facilitate planning program increments and releases
  • Collaborate with software build teams, other scrum masters, engineers and product analysts effectively
  • Perform software engineering tasks (i.e. design, development, test) as necessary

  • Scrum Master: Bachelor's degree in STEM related degree and 9 years of experience; 7 years with Masters; 4 Years with PhD. 13 years of experience in lieu of a Bachelor degree
  • Must have a minimum of 2 of experience as a Certified Scrum Master (or similar - Professional Scrum Master, Certified Scrum Practitioner, PMI Agile Certified Practitioner, etc.)
Desired Competencies/Experience/Certifications:
  • Experience developing operational weapons software systems
  • Background in SW development or SW development management
  • Knowledge of System Engineering principles and requirements management
  • 5 years Agile experience leading teams
  • Experience giving tutorials and/or training
  • Certification in one or more of these designations is desired: Certified SAFe Program Consultant (SPC), Certified Scrum at Scale Practitioner, Certified Agile Coach, Certified facilitator, Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO), Certified Scrum Trainer, and Project Management Professional (PMP)
  • Experience implementing Agile principles and practices within DoD or Federal government environments
  • Effective communicator, capable of effectively translating and presenting complex concepts to both technical and nontechnical management and customers, through presentations and written media
Clearance Requirements:
Must have an Active DoD Secret Security Clearance
