REPORTS TO: Regional Director of Fundraising, Gulf Coast, Southwest & Mountain West

NUMBER OF POSITIONS REPORTING TO THIS POSITION: 0

LOCATION : Remote; must be Mountain West based, near a major metropolitan area or airport preferred.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Major Gifts Manger will help create and implement strategies for the cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of a portfolio of 75-125 individuals throughout the Mountain West. Reporting to the Regional Director of Fundraising, Gulf Coast, Southwest, and Mountain West, the position will help identify and qualify new prospects to build The Conservation Fund s philanthropic community. The successful candidate will be a self-starter who is growth minded and passionate about building a regional major donor program for one of the top ranked conservation organizations in the country.

Must have received or be willing to receive the COVID-19 vaccination by date of hire to be considered.

RESPONSIBLITIES & SCOPE

  • Responsible for the identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of portfolio of 75-125 donors in the Mountain West region.
  • Build relationships with donors and prospects via personal visits, video calls, written content, and events.
  • Solicit and close gifts to support The Conservation Fund s portfolio of projects and general operations.
  • Develop stewardship plans that demonstrate targeted engagement of donors.
  • Develop a strong understanding of The Conservation Fund s project and program work to keep donors up to date.
  • Works with Regional Director of Fundraising to define and implement short- and long-range fundraising objectives of the organization.
  • Responsible for recording and updating all relationship data pertaining to portfolio in Raiser s Edge.
  • Assist with drafting communication materials in coordination with the Marketing and Communications team.
  • Assist Regional Director of Fundraising with related duties for the region including coordinating with filed staff, event planning, and grant writing.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum of 1-3 years of fundraising/development experience with donors giving at $10,000 and above level. Bachelor s degree preferred but not required.
  • Self-starter with demonstrated ability to work well independently and as part of a team.
  • Organized, detail-oriented, possessing a builder s mentality and strong work ethic.
  • Well-developed written and oral communication skills, including translating complicated project information into compelling and captivating stories.
  • Passion and interest in the mission of The Conservation Fund.
  • Experience working with an environmental conservation organization preferred.
  • Ability and willingness to travel.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Hybrid work environment including field office and remotely from home office.
  • The position does require sporadically working long hours and/or weekends.
  • Overnight travel is required.
  • Estimated travel - 20-25%.

COMPENSATION and BENEFITS

This position offers a competitive salary, opportunities to earn performance-based bonus compensation and a highly competitive package of benefits including employer contributions for health care, paid holidays, vacation and personal/sick leave, retirement plan and more. Salary is based on experience and location with a range of $70,000 - $80,000.
