Maldonado-Burkett, LLC, Austin based engineering company, seeks a Junior Project Accountant. This chosen candidate will be responsible for monitoring the progress of projects, investigating variances, reviewing time and expenses, and ensuring that project billings are issued to customers and payments collected.
Duties include:
Create project accounts in the accounting system
Maintain project-related records, including contracts and assisting management in creating contracts, certificate of insurances, and sub-consultant documentation
Review and approve supplier invoices related to a project
Review time sheets for work related to a project
Investigate project variances and submit variance reports to management
Perform Accounts Receivable to collect payments
Meeting critical deadlines on a monthly basis
Report on project profitability to management
Report to management on any opportunities for additional billings
Report to management regarding the remaining funding available for projects
Create and provide all project-related billings to customers
Investigate all project expenses not billed to customers
Close out project accounts upon project completion
Create and submit government reports related to projects
Compile information for internal and external auditors, as required
Assist Management in locating and preparing project related reports
Receives guests, visitors, packages and coordinate appropriate distribution
Answer and direct all incoming calls
Other duties as directed by Management
Requirements
High School Diploma or equivalent.
2-5 years of previous accounting experience.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
Multi-line telephone system.
Ability to work with minimal supervision.
Strong Organizational Skills and attention to detail.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Team building skills.
