Animal Emergency Clinic of the Hudson Valley is hiring Licensed Veterinary Technicians for locations in Poughkeepsie and Kingston, New York!

Key responsibilities:

  • Provides compassionate care to patients and clients
  • Keeps accurate medical records in accordance with hospital policy
  • Prepares and maintains the exam rooms and treatment areas
  • Performs physical assessments and records observations
  • Restrains pets
  • Prepares estimates for procedures and discusses financial commitments with clients
  • Explains needed follow up and home care instructions
  • Stocks clinic treatment area and exams rooms
  • Assists the Veterinarian in medical, surgical procedures; prepares patients for surgery; administers anesthesia; monitors patients during surgery and recovery; administers fluids
  • Cares for all surgical materials; keeping the operating room properly stocked and prepared for surgery

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Veterinary Technician Certification (CVT) or License (LVT) in the state of New York (or eligible for transfer) required for this role
  • Must have a positive attitude and be a team player

Animal Emergency Clinic of the Hudson Valley (AECHV) was founded in 1989 and is comprised of two, state-of-the-art equipped, and staffed hospitals located in Kingston and Poughkeepsie, New York. The hospitals are community founded and supported by the local general practice community. They are an exclusively emergency clinic and are equipped with ventilators, cardiac monitoring, in house laboratory and ultrasound and dedicated support staff.

AECHV is comprised of two hospital locations, located in Poughkeepsie, NY and Kingston, NY. Both are in the scenic Hudson River Valley, which sits midway between the metropolis of New York City and the regal capital of Albany. Designated as a National Heritage Area, the valley is steeped in history, natural beauty, culture, and a burgeoning food and farmers market scene. Among many attributes, its the oldest wine-producing area in the country, and the magnificent scenery inspired artists whose works became the Hudson River School of Painters.
