Position Highlights

The Campus Web Services team within The University of Arizona is looking for a creative, enthusiastic and self-motivated Drupal Front-end Developer/Designer who is passionate about collaborative web design and development. As part of the unified web experience initiative, you will be focused on managing our Drupal 9 website migration efforts for our clients with custom sites.

Our team is committed to promoting sustainable web development and best practices for the institution. Open-source development is core to our mission and supports our operations. In addition to supporting over 300 websites for various campus clients, our team collaborates with web professionals from across campus to support and maintain the University's custom Drupal distribution, Arizona Quickstart, as well as other projects.

This is an Extended Temporary Employment (ETE) position with a potential for continuation.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Manage migration of custom websites from Quickstart 1 toQuickstart 2.
  • Work collaboratively with clients to manage their migrationsor new custom website projects.
  • Work collaboratively to develop innovative solutions toclient requests that benefit the university as a whole.
  • Independently develop innovative and maintainable solutionsto client requests for website customizations.
  • Use knowledge of the team's services to inform clients abouttheir options in a scalable and maintainable way for the rest of the team.
  • Reviewand contribute code changes to Arizona Bootstrap and Arizona Quickstart viaGitHub.
  • Additional duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot issues independently.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent advanced learning attainedthrough professional level experience required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience required.
  • OR; Any equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working in higher education.
  • Experience contributing to Drupal 7 or 9.
  • Experience with git and/or GitHub.
  • Experience developing code in a collaborative environment with peer code review, coding standard checks, etc.
  • Experience building websites and creating custom content types and views in Drupal 7 and 9.
  • Demonstrated experience with website and accessibility best practices.
  • Demonstrated experience with HTML, CSS, and Javascript.
