Position Summary
The Agency System Analyst is part of a divisional IT team based in Rolling Meadows, IL for Gallagher Global Brokerage (GGB). The team maintains enterprise caliber third party applications from a variety of vendors. The team is led by managers with deep technical backgrounds and strives to use modern practices and technologies the right way. This is a dynamic team environment that encourages collaboration among analysts to make the whole team better.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Maintains application systems and are running in the daily operations of the firm
  • Identifies and resolves complex problems or transactions where expertise is required to interpret against policies, guidelines or processes
  • Acts as analytical or procedural expert and represent team on cross-functional process or project deliverables
  • Support post-M&A activities, including the onboarding and transformation of acquired applications to be compliant with divisional policy
  • Directly perform or manage annual compliance activities such as disaster recovery, data retention exercises, access reviews, application upgrades, SOX/SOC2 compliance evidence gathering, and administer application user security
  • Works with users, product owners, and team to support business applications and investigate operational problems/system requirements
  • Responsible for full lifecycle of small projects, including planning, estimation, and hands-on task execution
  • Occasional planned off-hour procedural work when system downtime is required to larger systems. Potentially 5-10 times a year
  • Solves user inquiries that arise during day-to-day operation
  • Regularly provides coaching, guidance and training to team members of varying experience

Required
  • Bachelor's degree and 5 years related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience is required.
  • Competent to work at the highest technical level of all phases of applications systems analysis and system maintenance activities.

Preferred
  • Experience within one or more core types of applications:
    • Agency management systems
    • Document management systems
    • Financial accounting systems
  • Ability to create and document new IT operational processes based on recent acquisitions
  • Proven ability to independently manage tasks and priorities, accurately estimate work and meet mutually agreed upon deadlines
  • Strong applications analysis and issue resolution (troubleshooting) skills
  • Experience with Microsoft SQL Server, Windows Server operating systems, and IIS
