Salary: £31,967 - £32,933 Permanent - Full time - 35 hours per week ActionAid UK is a member of the ActionAid Federation, an international charity that works with women and girls living in poverty. ActionAid UK is looking for an experienced team administrator with a good understanding of how political change happens and a commitment to international development and women and girl s rights. If that s you and you are seeking a new challenge that will make the most of your skills, look no further than this Advocacy Officer role with ActionAid UK. At ActionAid UK our Advocacy team is tasked with achieving changes in policy and practice through lobbying and engagement with political stakeholders, building key relationships and ensuring our profile and standing are strong. As Advocacy Officer you will play an important role in delivering against these challenging objectives. You will support the team to build and monitor relationships with Parliamentarians and Government in support of advocacy strategies on key campaigns and issues. You will support influencing work focussed on women and girls rights, including humanitarian response, women s economic rights and violence against women and girls. . Comfortable working cross-organisationally you must have excellent administrative and diary management skills, good communication and networking skills, and be adept at working simultaneously on a number of projects. You will also have the flexibility and instinct to spot opportunities as they arise. . You will support the team to ensure our priority issues have a strong profile with relevant stakeholders including in Parliament and Government. You will also support the team to work effectively with other teams and departments and in doing so, you will work with colleagues in campaigning, communications and programme-focussed roles. You may also work with peers in other development agencies in formal and informal coalitions;, and on ad hoc projects to help deliver key objectives. As well as having a good understanding of Parliament and Whitehall, you will have good knowledge of international development issues and women and girls rights. .
